We found that if you ask yourself does it matter - usually the answer is yes. So, we get this question a lot, when a seller wants to list their home up for sale, about painting the inside, should they do that or not. There was a time, not even that long ago, where we would say that painting the inside really didn't matter all that much because buyers would look at that as a simple fix. Now, no way. Buyers don't even want to paint, let along do any type of work, at least the majority of buyers that we see out there.
So even though it's a simple paint job, don't overlook that as something a buyer can do and pick out their own paint because buyers want that done already, even if you think it's a neutral color that a buyer might not like, as long as it's a light neutral color, it will be fine. Buyers just do not want dark and every room a different color. It seems crazy, but we have seen buyers moving on to a different home to look at because of paint. Here's an interesting article for reference.
